Message From the President – Brenna Hamel

This year more than ever we are prepared to execute creative, entertaining, and career advancing events for the student body to engage in. With the efforts of our brilliant and vibrant new team, as well as the support from the Rotman Commerce Career Centre and Student Life offices, anything is possible!

Meet your Co-Founders!

Brenna Hamel, Current President, and Laura Amoi (Grad 2019)

“RCSS was born on a bus ride to OUA’s in 2017 co-founded by both myself and my beautiful teammate and role model Laura Amoi. What started as a blank paper has quickly turned into an amalgamation of our desire to combine our passion for sports with our business pursuit. This project reflects our experiences as student-athletes and we hope it will benefit our talented and diverse student bodies’ Rotman Commerce experience.”

About Co-Founder Laura Amoi:

Laura Amoi graduated from the Rotman Commerce program’s Management Specialist with a concentration in Strategy & Innovation. She co-founded RCSS in 2017 with teammate Brenna Hamel to create a sports community within the Commerce student body. The group also sought to bridge the professional gap between Rotman and the sports industry. During her time at UofT, she competed as a varsity track & field athlete earning multiple provincial medals in Triple Jump and finishing off her career with a Bronze medal at the 2019 national championship. She earned the Academic All-Canadian award in recognition of academic excellence as well as the Angela James Award for Excellence in Outstanding Athletic Achievement.

Passionate about sustainable development in her native Côte d’Ivoire, she thrives to increase corporations’ responsibility towards environmental protection and social actions. Laura spends her free time volunteering for the UN or local organizations that promote youth and girls in sports.
